Wendy’s Rewards Guide: How to Earn Points, Claim Offers, and Get Free Food

Wendy’s Rewards can help customers save money and earn free menu items. New members may receive value sooner than expected because Wendy’s currently gives 200 bonus points after the first eligible purchase. Members also receive an in-app offer for 10-piece chicken nuggets with a qualifying purchase.

The program is free, but missing a QR scan or using the wrong ordering service could cost you points. Here is how it works.

How to Join Wendy’s Rewards

Download the Wendy’s app or create an account through its website. Once enrolled, you can earn points on qualifying purchases.

For an app or website order, sign in before checking out. At the counter or drive-thru, open the app and show your rewards QR code before paying.

How the 200-Point Welcome Bonus Works

Wendy’s says new members can receive 200 bonus points after their first qualifying purchase. A separate in-app nuggets offer is also available with a required purchase. Registration and account use are required. The promotion is offered at participating U.S. restaurants.

Two hundred points may already cover a smaller reward. Current examples on the official Wendy’s Rewards page include four-piece nuggets and small seasoned potatoes.

Prices and available items can differ by location.

Read the welcome offer before buying. The app should display its purchase requirement, expiration date, participation rules, and ordering restrictions.

How to Earn Points

Members normally earn 10 points for every eligible dollar spent on food. For example, a qualifying $10 food purchase generally earns 100 points. Taxes, fees, tips, redeemed rewards, coupons, and discounted amounts do not earn points.

Points can be earned through an order placed while signed in to the Wendy’s app or website. In-person customers can scan their digital rewards card at the counter or pickup window.

Third-party delivery orders generally do not earn Wendy’s Rewards points. Wendy’s also states that delivery orders do not currently qualify for points or in-app offers, even when ordered through its own app or website. Choose pickup when earning points is important.

Offers and Rewards Are Different

An offer is a digital deal, while a reward is a food item unlocked with points. Wendy’s currently permits one reward and one offer in an eligible order. Discounted amounts do not earn points.

How to Redeem Points

Open the Rewards Store to view the available menu items and their point costs. Select a reward and add it to a mobile order. For an in-person purchase, load it onto your digital Rewards Card before scanning.

Claim a reward only when you plan to use it. Wendy’s says claimed rewards usually expire after 30 days. Keeping points in your balance until you are ready helps prevent wasted rewards.

When Do Points Expire?

Wendy’s Rewards points expire 365 days after they are earned. The oldest points are used first when you redeem them. Check your account balance and activity if you have not ordered for several months.

Mistakes That Can Cost You Points

  • Ordering while signed out of your account
  • Forgetting to scan the QR code before paying
  • Using a third-party delivery service
  • Claiming a reward too early
  • Missing an offer’s purchase requirement
  • Assuming every Wendy’s location participates
  • Allowing points or rewards to expire

Keep your receipt if points do not appear. Wendy’s says points should usually post within two hours. Contact Wendy’s Customer Care when an eligible purchase remains missing.

Is Wendy’s Rewards Worth It?

The program can offer solid value if you already eat at Wendy’s. Membership is free, the standard earning rate is easy to follow, and the welcome bonus may unlock a small reward after one purchase. In-app offers can also provide savings before you collect many points.

Avoid making unnecessary purchases just to grow your balance. You will save more by applying offers to meals you already planned to buy, comparing reward values, and watching expiration dates.

New customers should register before ordering, complete an eligible first purchase, and check the app for the bonus and nuggets offer. Terms can change, so rely on the information shown in your account at checkout.
